Shanewei - The Beginning

Wednesday, 2 July 2008

Yesterday evening, i turned on my MSN, something i have not done for eons and immediately, a message came blinking. No lah, it's not some salacious propositions from Edison Chen. We definitely move in very different circles.

The message was from X-Man, asking about Shane and then he asked about me which he hasn't for the last three years. I told him about this Blog Award thingy and implored him to vote for me.

No, i take that back, i think i told him that if he didn't vote for me, i would splash all his triple X pictures on my site. Now that the traffic here has picked up tremendously, X-Man would be the next 'famous' face in Singaporeland and i'm very sure, his pictures would ahhhemm... put Edison Chen to shame!! :)

X-Man asked, "You very freeee hor"

To answer to that, i think i am.

It all happened when i finally plucked out my courage to tell X-Man for the last time, 'Good-Bye'. That was Year 2005. Long story cut short, me and Shane moved into a nice little apartment and re-started our life. Finally i was at peace with the world.

With just the two of us, i did away with the maid, handling all by myself, which at times was a little too overwhelming. My daily weekdays routine was almost the same: in the morning, dropped little Shane at his playschool before rushing to work. After work, picked him up, cooked, washed, played and put him to bed. Whatever was left of the day was Mummy's self indulgence time.

And during one of these Mummy's Time, i discovered a whole new world on the internet - blogging.

I started writing on Moblog end July 2005, making many friends along the way. Most of my wonderful memories are left on Moblog so if you are keen on a little walk down my memorylane, pop over there. Get your popcorns and Diet Coke ready plus maybe, a box of tissue! Moblog has a very interesting platform that link bloggers to each other which resulted in a very lively and 'interactive' blogsite. You can also update and send MMS straight to your blog from your mobile phone. Go visit Moblog and you know what i mean.

Back then, i didn't realised Moblog was that 'interactive' until i posted my first entry - Moving On By Letting Go. People started to read about me. They seemed to like what i wrote and kept coming back for more. Or maybe it was their sympathy for me. Or maybe they were just curious.

As much as i enjoy Moblog, i also like a site where i can doodle with a little html. Thus the birth of shanewei@blogspot. In fact, i registered my blogspot first on June 2005 but i failed badly at trying to create a masterpiece. Learning html is like trying to read Hebrew. I gave up until late last year where blogspot's interface became friendlier.

So there my friend, if you are a first time reader, a short insight of my humble beginning.

Btw, i do not give out my mobile number. If you insist on wanting it, please read, Hi, My Mobile Number Is....

Perhaps Love

Friday, 27 June 2008

No lah, i'm not in love. I will gladly happilly tell all of you if ever i am in love.. *cheeky grins* and then all of you can send me lovely sweet wishes.. haha :)

Perhaps love is the title of this song that is currently playing and everytime i hear this song, i feel like i have the whole world right in my hand, and i will secretly smile to myself, haha..*siow* right? So i'm sharing this with you again so hopefully all of you can be super happy like me all day long..!

This song is the thai cover of a Korean song from the movie 'Princess Hour' and the lyrics of this version is exactly how i'm feeling now. It's a love song, naturally, so... :)

Happy Weekend Folks... It's Friday nite and i have a date with the girls... :)

My Sex and The City

Tuesday, 24 June 2008

Watched Sex and the City. Finally. Well, two weeks back actually. Sent a text to Fen asking her to watch with me but i think she was in SF at that time, so yours truly braced the theather alone. It was rated M18, little Shane can't go with me and i mistakenly told him.. "Mummy is going to watch an adult movie, hence you have to stay home!" Hah, let's hope he didn't repeat the same to anyone.

SATC - Sex. City. Clubs. Friends. New York. Fashion. Manolos. Salads. Friends. Food. Cosmopolitans. Men. Friends. Waxing. Break-ups. Friends. Weddings. Love.... Friends and Forever Friends. Some things will never change.

Photo0678

Watching re-runs of SATC on my other best 'bud' - the Archos 504 have been my nightly ritual for the 30minutes before i doze off to dreamyland these past nights. Having the company of Carrie, mesmerized by the likes of Big and Aidan, laugh with Samantha, giggle with Charlotte and at times, think like Miranda - they are my BFF for now.

I love the dazzling fashion in the movie, the cute guys, the big breakfasts, the hearty lunches and the never ending dinners. Plus, cosmopolitans. But i still prefer my lychee martinis, shaken and not stirred please, with real lychee pulps thank you and if you don't mind, i like to have them with three lychees.

And then it suddenly dawned on me - i'm in great need of a good detox to rid my body of these or else, i risked being detoxed by them!

I want to be like one of these girls. Sans the Fats.

It's Sex and the City, not Fat and the City. On that note, i would like to share with you my latest buy - The Japan Diet, a $5 book on sale i unearthed in Carrefour. In fact, it didn't take me much effort to dig thru anything, the book merely lay lazily on top of everything else, and its pretty cover seems to be calling out to me, beckoning me to get it! I gave in, immediately, all because of "...shortcuts...fresh and easy... anti-ageing...slimming and fills you up! And all for a mere $5? But like all the one-nite-stands in the movie, how long will i play this game?

meeee

My cheeks are growing horribly horizontally :(

Anyway, can't stay long here, it's 1am now but i'm still meeting the girls.

Ta~~

i think i

Saturday, 21 June 2008

If you haven't already notice, my email address is now shanewei@mail.com :) Do update your address book ya.

To all who asked, i don't have the mp3 of the thai song that was playing previously and so won't be able to send it to you. That was from the movie 'Me...Myself' and the movie is dee mak mak kha!! If you are from Singapore, you may be able to get the soundtrack for this movie from Golden Mile although i haven't been there to check it out myself. I believe that place needs no introduction na ;p Just print out the following and show it to any shop that catches your eyes.

Song title: fân feuan ฟั่นเฟือน (Movie: Me...Myself ขอให้รักจงเจริญ)

If they don't have the soundtrack album, they may have some other compilation albums you can choose from. In fact, most of the shops in GM sell compilation albums and they are not expensive.

Good Luck :)

P/s: In case you are keen, the current song that is playing is 'i think i' by Katareeya English.

Maybe, Just Maybe

Monday, 16 June 2008

She fired a few shots at the people around her.

Then ran all the way, towards me.

We sat by the staircase, she, hugging me, crying in my arms.

She hated everyone around her, me especially, i think.

That was seven years ago.

She would have been twelve by now.

Do you understand what this is all about?

No you don't.

Do i want to tell you?

No i don't.

Especially For Alex

Saturday, 7 June 2008

To watch, click on the 'play' button, then 'pause' to let it run for one minute before hitting 'play' again.

This is a silly vid i made about two years back for Alex, our dashing young intern. I was reminded of this when Drake was back two days ago. It gives me the goosepimples watching this but what the heck, enjoy it :)

Together we can help them.

To save the children, to save their fathers and to save their mothers.

I may not have a huge readership but if all of you who visit my blog on a daily basis could just donate US$1, I would be truly grateful and thankful.

Please do your little bit to help.

The Day She Went Away

Friday, 2 May 2008

The day she went away
With tears flooding her face
Packed up all that she had
And left without a trace.

She, not sure what to expect
Not knowing what lies ahead
In her mind, she just wanna escape
From all the lies that had spun into an endless web.

With the growing life in her
And the ever increasing need to protect
From all the cruel facts
That were enveloping the fragile new breath.

A charming angelic face she saw one day
Sense of contentment built up her way
She thought she might try again
For the beautiful angel that clung to her hand.

She went back to live in the new place she called home
Thought of giving her babe a new lease of hope
But his feelings had grown into a cold dome
In the uncertain darkness, she tried to grope.

Alone and despair with the sleeping babe
Eerie quietness turned into a frozen deaf
Else shoutings, the only noise that was made
In the middle of the nite, she left.

Peace and calm was what she felt
For the first time she could actually laugh
Even though the card that fate dealt
Splited her heart in half.

Time went by, she was surviving alright
The little babe was her guiding light
That two years seemed to be the best
The two of them in the cosy small nest.

Somehow he was back in their lives
Going for outings from time to time
She was toying with the idea of staying by his side
As his tone and messages seemed to imply.

At last she gave it a final thought
To give her restless heart a smoother road
And perhaps her babe can have
A daddy to play with like the rest.

She agreed on the terms given
And all the conditions she would willingly take
Just so she could build a haven
And a complete family for her babe.

Tried as hard as she might
Just to give it one last try
But alas, it went down the drain
And her packing up again.

This time was never the same
There was no more tear left in her heart to stain
Although some feelings remain
But no longer would she stay.

She was as much to be blamed
For the thunder and the rain
And now she just hope for the best
For herself, her babe and may God bless.

In a week's time all will be brought to an end
With the judge to give it a final hand
To put the five turbulent years to a rest
Hopefully she will survive any future test.

However, if fate miraculously strike its hand
Transport her back to square one again
She would still choose the same man
And live it differently for Shane.

I wrote this in December 2005 and posted it on Moblog. Didn't know i can be so poetic huh? Never underestimate what a woman can do, especially one that survived the dark moments in her life. Feeling rather nostalgic tonite, so i went browsing back at my old entries, savouring every word, every picture and slowly transporting some of them here. If you been reading my blog since the day i started writing at moblog, sorry for this repetition (and more to come). If you are reading this for the first time, do you feel what i feel then?
